Omschrijving
Meet Zeytin 🌿
Zeytin was rescued as a puppy from a dangerous area in Ankara and grew up in a safe but quiet shelter environment. Now in the Netherlands, she’s slowly discovering a whole new world—full of sounds, people, and experiences she’s never known before.
Personality & Behavior
Zeytin is a gentle, quiet, and cautious girl. She’s naturally shy and hesitant in new situations, and needs time to feel safe. Her instincts tell her to step back and observe first—but she’s never reactive or aggressive. With patience and kindness, she slowly begins to open up and show her sweet side.
She gets along well with both dogs and cats, and she prefers peaceful interactions over high-energy play. She doesn't bark unnecessarily or show destructive behaviors. Zeytin is curious, but careful—she moves through the world with a soft presence.
Her foster sibling, Bond is not a very playful dog so we didn't observe much playing but she was playful with her sisters back in Ankara. She doesn't initiate plays, but joins when there is fun!
Progress So Far
Since arriving in the Netherlands, Zeytin has made wonderful progress. She’s started forming routines, adjusting to the indoor environment, and even beginning to explore outside with support.
Her toilet training is coming along well—she first learned to use puppy pads indoors as she was struggling with going outside. However, she is now comfortable with going outside and only uses her pad maybe once a day in the morning We will soon remove the pad as well and she will be fully trained for outdoor toileting.
Key Features
🐾 Rescued as a puppy from a dangerous area in Ankara
🐾 Gentle, shy, and observant
🐾 Good with both cats and dogs
🐾 Toilet training almost complete progress – goes outside and uses her pad in the morning
🐾 Incredible during walks, has no pulling habit
🐾 Doesn’t bark or show destructive behaviors
🐾 Needs a calm home with a predictable routine
🐾 Would thrive with a secure garden for extra safety
🐾 Currently in the Netherlands
What Kind of Home Does Zeytin Need?
Zeytin needs a peaceful, stable, and understanding home. She’s not ready for a bustling city life or a loud, high-energy household. What she needs is someone who:
🐾 is extremely patient and gentle
🐾 will allow her to move at her own pace
🐾 can offer her a calm and secure environment
🐾 preferably doesn’t have small children at home
A securely fenced garden would be a big advantage, as she’s still gaining confidence outdoors. Co-living with respectful cats or calm dogs is absolutely fine.
Zeytin is not the right dog for someone expecting quick results. But if you’re willing to walk alongside her, step by step, she’ll reward you with trust, softness, and quiet companionship. 💛
