Pesto is a great dog who is looking for his forever home in the Netherlands. He was rescued as a stray dog in Istanbul, Turkiye and had a hard time there. He now lives with a temporary host family in a village near Roosendaal. Pesto is a sweet, gentle and calm dog.

Unfortunately, he does need attention and good care as he has epilepsy. Fortunately, he has not had an epileptic attack for a long time, but he does need his medicine twice a day to prevent potential future epilepsy attacks.

He is looking for a home with quiet spot with preferably a garden. He can not handle well if there is too much stimuli, which is why the city center is not a convenient place for him. He enjoys going for walks in forest and discovering new things. Sometimes he can be afraid in busy places, he was born as a stray and had bad things happening to him before his rescue.

🩺 Health Condition: Pesto has epilepsy and requires phenobarbital every 12 hours to control his condition. His seizure episodes are infrequent (about once a year) and he also takes stomach protectants and kidney support pills. Even on days when he has seizures, Pesto remains strong enough to enjoy walks and treats.

🏡 Ideal home: We hope to find a forever family for Pesto in a quiet neighborhood, preferably with experience in caring for an epileptic person or dog. Although not required, candidates should evaluate their financial ability to provide Pesto with its medications and veterinary care. Patience and love are essential as Pesto's condition is part of who he is, but this doesn't change the fact that he is the most loving dog.
