Meet Gilbert: Your Future Furry Friend!

Gilbert, the adorable and resilient kitty, is searching for his forever home in either the Netherlands or Belgium. This beautiful boy, along with his brother and two other cats, endured a heartbreaking start to life. They were victims of abuse and neglect in Bahrain, confined to an open-air rooftop under the scorching summer sun, surviving on just one chicken nugget and scraps of human food daily. Fortunately, they were rescued and spent several months at the vet, receiving treatment for various conditions including ringworm, mycoplasma, giardia, and ear mites.

Gilbert has recently left the clinic and is thriving in a foster home with one of our dedicated Rescat members. Initially shy, Gilbert quickly warms up and reveals his playful and affectionate nature. Though petite, he is incredibly confident and agile, delighting in energetic play sessions followed by periods of relaxed exploration. This sweet boy loves giving head bumps, face kisses, and snuggling on your lap.

Quality time with his humans is especially important to Gilbert. He will thrive in a home where dedicated playtime and lounging are part of the daily routine. Gilbert also has a unique congenital condition known as Syndactyly (hypodactyly) or split-foot, which means he has one less digit on his left front paw. However, this does not affect his mobility or playful spirit in any way.

Gilbert will be ready to move to the Netherlands as soon as he is adopted.

Gilbert is in excellent health, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV and mycoplasma.
