George

Shy George is looking for a forever home together with his brother Stevie in the Netherlands. They are currently being fostered in Rotterdam.

George is now 2 and half years old and was found dumped by a lady in a shopping centre car park with their mama and other siblings at around 6 weeks old. He is very close to his brother Stevie and always rely on him, so are being rehomed together.

George is not as brave or sociable with people as Stevie is. This is due to a traumatic experience he had in the past when maintenance work was done in their room. George went inside his cat carrier, but the maintenance worker accidentally dropped tools on top of it, causing him significant distress. Since that incident, poor George has struggled with anxiety. In his new environment, he tends to hide under the bed or couch for the first few days, only emerging for food and to use the litter box. Unfortunately, this makes it challenging for him to find a home. Ideally, George would thrive in a household with someone experienced and patient, who understands his needs and can help him slowly come out of his shell. They’ve been moving from one foster home to another which added his stress. He deserves a permanent home where he can live for the rest of his lives without going through the stress again of going here and there.

George needs some time to build trust with his human, but once he feels safe, he returns to his affectionate nature, allowing you to pet him and seeking out head rubs. He is laid-back and content to watch his brother Stevie play. While he occasionally joins in the fun, he mostly prefers to sit quietly in a corner. George is the kind of kitty you can rely on around your belongings; he won't disturb anything unless it’s a treat, in which case, he'll eagerly take it from your hand. Unlike his brother Stevie, George appreciates his personal space and isn't particularly fond of excessive human interaction; he enjoys observing from a distance.

Both love to spend their days looking out of the window to watch birds and playing with their toys. They are an indoor only home, or an access to a fully cat proofed balcony.

George is fully vaccinated for Tricat and Rabies, neutered, microchipped, negative for mycoplasma and negative for FIV/FeLV.
