Olaf

Olaf was recued from a government shelter in Ankara, Turkey where he was laying lifeless, only skin and bones, recently castrated with stitches still on and among hundreds of dogs fighting for food and water. It was only a matter of time that he would be killed and probably eaten by other dogs who were all starving.

He received veterinary care and not only recovered from his recent surgery but also started to put on weight. Since he is discharged he has been at a dog hotel without indoors access. As such we are not sure of his potty training, but as he is almost 2 years old we believe he will either have the instincts or quickly learn not to go potty inside because he can hold it...

As an Anatolian Shepherd, he is super friendly with people. He is not tested with kids or cats but we can easily assume he will be very good with kids. He also gets along well with other dogs but as a male dog he will be best with a female dog in a household rather than another male dog.

He loves to eat! Which means he is going to be easy to train with treats. He already knows to sit for treats.

He is not a barker. Although we didn't have the opportunity to see if he has any chewing problems, we assume not.

He walks on a leash easily. Not much pulling but he doesn't know to follow a line but instead zigzags..

He will be so happy to experience everything new! Going on walks, being warm inside, tasting new things, learning new things... His change within weeks of being in a foster home will be the most rewarding experience.

Can you give him a place to stay while he looks for his forever home in the Netherlands? His 4 months long procedures to be able to travel to the Netherlands have already been completed. He is available to fly anytime :))
