Meet Teddy: The Gentle Giant

Teddy is a magnificent mix of Caucasian Shepherd and Tibetan Mastiff, a stunning six-year-old who radiates kindness, devotion, and a gentle spirit. Weighing in at approximately 70 kilograms, this densely-coated, mellow giant has a heart as big as his frame. Around the house, Teddy is calm and sweetly devoted to his family, offering a comforting presence that will fill any home with love.

Despite his size and strength, Teddy is soft and endearing, always seeking connection with his people. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, showcasing his friendly and cooperative nature. However, we haven’t had the chance to test him with cats. He walks on a leash, but his size and enthusiasm mean he may need some gentle corrections to perfect his leash manners.

Teddy’s rescue story is a poignant reflection of the challenges faced by stray animals in Turkey. Born and raised on the streets, he grew into the gentle soul he is today. However, due to recent laws that tragically target stray animals for euthanasia, Teddy’s life was at great risk. Knowing his friendly and kind nature, we couldn’t bear the thought of him being sent to a municipal shelter, where survival is nearly impossible for dogs like him. To save him, we secured him a safe spot in a pet hotel until he finds his forever home.

Teddy truly lives up to his name—a bear-like figure with a soft, cuddly personality to match. We are seeking a loving foster family to help Teddy on her journey to finding her forever home. Fostering plays a vital role in giving our dogs and cats a better chance at adoption by preparing them for life in a permanent home.

We also offer a foster-to-adopt option for those considering adoption but would like a trial period first. This allows you to meet and spend time with Teddy before making a final decision about adoption. If adoption isn't something you're ready for, you can still make a significant impact by fostering him until she finds her perfect home. Your support as a foster family can be a crucial stepping stone in her path to happiness.
