Harlequin

Meet Harlequin, a calm, confident and handsome tuxedo gentleman eagerly searching for his forever home in the Netherlands.

Harlequin was born and raised as a stray, but thanks to the loving care of his rescuer since he was a kitten, he has become well-socialized with humans. He is now around two years old, and he has lived near his rescuer's home all this time, receiving regular meals morning and evening. Due to the challenges of finding homes for short-haired tuxedo cats, his rescuer hesitated to bring him inside. However, Harlequin has grown increasingly reliant on human companionship and has become fearful of other street cats, often seeking refuge to stay safe from potential attacks. Whenever he sees his rescuer, he affectionately wraps around her legs or leaps into her lap when she sits down. She realized he deserves a stable home and decided to take him to the vet for a health check to prepare him for adoption.

Harlequin's calm demeanor has made it easy for him to integrate with three other gentle cats in his foster home. He displays no signs of aggression and tends to retreat quietly to his cat box if the others feel uncertain. He gets along well with female than male cats. He is a quiet yet confident boy, meowing softly to his humans for attention, whether it’s for pets or food.

Although he can be easily startled by loud noises and goes to hide, he quickly emerges once he feels safe. Harlequin adores being petted and will often come around seeking affection or hop into your lap. If you ignore him, he will flop down in front you, showing you his belly to get your attention. He would thrive in a quiet household and is strictly an indoor cat, though he would enjoy some time on a fully cat-proofed balcony.

Harlequin is a big boy who gets quite excited when mealtime arrives! He is not picky about his food and enjoys both dry and wet options. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and has tested negative for mycoplasma and FIV/FeLV.
