Lucy

Lucy was rescued in Ankara from a Turkish shelter run in horrible conditions. She was taken to the shelter with her new born puppies but because shelters in Turkey are in general horrible all her puppies died and she was left with swollen breasts. She was so malnourished herself, only skin and bones, that it is evident she wouldn't have survived if she was not rescued from that shelter. (you can see the photos from her first days after her rescue at the end.)

Lucy is a very social and affectionate dog. She will be more than happy to be petted, kissed and having a hand stroking her fur 24/7, if possible :) (indeed 3rd photo in the row is how she is most of the time, her foster family needed to teach her that she needs to not to be belly up so that they can brush her :) ). She is a smiley face and overall a happy dog. She prefers people over other dogs to interact and play. She is very food motivated which makes her a very quick learner.

Outside she is still learning to not pull, but she can't help herself because she loooveeess to sniff!! Her nose is almost always on the ground sniffing in every little detail and sometime she is lost in the messages carried by those smells.

Inside she is not very active and generally laying in her bed/on the sofa etc. So she is a chill and Netflix kind of a dog at home where you can snuggle up on the couch and she will be most happy.

Currently she is staying at a foster home with an almost same size male dog. During their first introduction he barked when inside at home and they were separated for a day or two. Now they can safely be in the same room together however Lucy does not allow him to get too close warning him with a growl. Nevertheless, outside in the park, they are the best playmates, even choosing each other over playing with other dogs.

She is potty trained. She don't have a barking or chewing problem. She can stay at home alone (preferably short periods) with no problems.

She is not tested with cats and anytime we saw her with kids she was happy to receive pets.
