Kiddo

Kiddo’s journey started rough—she was found covered in wounds, in desperate need of care. We treated her, gave her a safe place, and she spent nearly two years in boarding, where she fully recovered. Despite her tough past, she’s proven to be incredibly smart, adaptable, and full of life.

Rescue Journey:
During her time in boarding, Kiddo lived with a blind Cocker Spaniel, whom she instinctively protected and looked after. This nurturing side of her shows how deeply she cares for those around her. Now, she is in perfect health and ready to find her forever home.

Personality & Behavior:
Kiddo has a dual personality—calm and well-mannered indoors, but energetic and playful outdoors. She loves spending time outside and could walk or run for hours without tiring. At home, though, she is the perfect housemate:

🐾 House-trained 🚽🏡—No accidents, fully potty trained.
🐾 Quiet and respectful 🤫—She doesn’t bark unnecessarily or chew on things.
🐾 Independent—She doesn’t jump on furniture like sofas or beds.
🐾 Great with other animals 🐶🐱—She currently lives with a cat and an aggressive dog, and has adapted well to both. She’s indifferent to the cat, even when swatted. She quickly adjusted to the resident dog, and now they compete for the best sleeping spot in a fun, playful way.
🐾 Good with kids 👶—She is patient and friendly with children.
🐾 She is social with other dogs but doesn’t like being dominated—if another dog tries to assert control over her, she will stand her ground. Otherwise, she gets along well with canine companions.

Training & Intelligence:
Kiddo is highly intelligent and learns incredibly fast. She quickly mastered walking on a leash in a perfect heel position (left-side follow). However, she has a high level of focus outdoors, so if she’s to be walked off-leash, recall training is essential—her attention can sometimes drift.

Kiddo is a natural climber and an excellent hiking companion. Whether it's forest trails or rocky terrain, she moves effortlessly and would love an active family who enjoys outdoor adventures.

Ideal Home:
Kiddo would thrive with an active family who loves the outdoors. She enjoys long walks, running, and playing outside, but at home, she’s a dream companion—calm, quiet, and easygoing. She has no problem with stairs, can relax in cafés and other public places, and is comfortable adapting to new environments.

She has had multiple temporary foster homes in the Netherlands, each with resident dogs, and she adapted in just 1-2 days each time. The only reason for these changes was that her fosters had short-term travel plans.
