Peri (Fairy)

Peri is a sweet, polite, and obedient dog looking for a loving forever home. She was found in a forest in Ankara in August 2024, but we had to wait nearly two months before rescuing her, as she had recently given birth. Sadly, her puppies were never found, and it became clear that she had been abandoned. Despite her difficult past, Peri has adapted beautifully to home life and is now ready to become someone’s loyal companion.

Personality & Behavior:
Peri is an absolute dream indoors—calm, well-mannered, and eager to please. If she picks up something she shouldn’t, a simple "no" is enough for her to drop it immediately. She has met a cat and had no issues at all! 🐱

Outdoors & Socialization:
Peri is fully leash-trained and walks very well, but she can still be a little cautious in new environments. She is not reactive—no barking, growling, or pulling—just a little hesitant around loud noises, cars, and unfamiliar places. However, she is extremely attentive to her human and follows their lead. In just a short time, she has made huge progress—initially, she wanted to rush home, but now she happily explores and enjoys 30-minute walks. She doesn’t respond to her name much outside yet, but clapping your hands gets her attention instantly!

She is also very social with other dogs—her response to them is always curiosity and friendliness, never fear or aggression.

Her Special Traits:

🐾 Great on the leash & very obedient outdoors 🐾—Just needs patience to build confidence in new places.
🐾 Polite and friendly with other animals 🐕🐱—Lives peacefully with two Golden Retrievers and a cat.
🐾 First or second dog? Both work!—She’s naturally well-behaved, but she also enjoys learning from other dogs.
🐾 Not destructive—She doesn’t chew on household items, though she might get curious about small objects left within reach.
🐾 Food-motivated but learning impulse control—Her "auto-sit" when unsure is adorable.
🐾 Responds well to calm voices—If she feels anxious, she looks to her human for reassurance.

Funny & Quirky Moments:
💡 She learns by watching other dogs—whether it’s paw wiping or tooth brushing, she copies her Golden Retriever foster siblings and follows their lead.
🧚‍♀️ Her name means ‘Fairy’ in Turkish—and true to her name, she’s a delicate, magical little soul who just needs love and patience to shine.

Peri would thrive in a calm, loving home with someone who can continue gently encouraging her confidence outdoors. She’s naturally polite and obedient, making her an easy dog for first-time adopters, but she would also fit well in a multi-dog household.
