Maurice

Maurice looks like a sand-colored baby lion with the innocent expression of a kitten looking to discover the world. Born as a stray kitten in Bulgaria, Maurice had to learn to find food in the street and to stay safe while still a baby. He was found by our volunteers around 3 months of age and brought to a clinic where he was examined, treated for minor infections and shown what a safe place could be. During the last few months, Maurice got in excellent health, gained weight and built some confidence to be around people.

He is a shy kitten who likes to be cuddled and petted, and really enjoys the attention. In return, you get his content soft purring which is like an engine of happiness vibrating in him. He is playful but didn’t have the opportunity to experience lots of toys and running around as most of his life has been in a cage.

Maurice will thrive in a foster home where he can be supported to transition into house life and be given the attention to blossom. He is shy but has a spark of curiosity in his eyes which shows that he will come out of his shell and has lots of love to give. He has been around other cats in the clinic, but was bullied when placed in the same cage with another kitten, so he will benefit from a solo environment or a home with cats that are not very dominant.

Maurice is neutered, chipped and has all required vaccines and negative tests for main feline viruses. He is ready to travel to the Netherlands with his international passport ready, and our volunteers can organize his transport in a few days’ notice.

We are open to discuss the fostering arrangements and help to provide good care for him while he transitions to home life and finds a loving forever home.
