Omschrijving
Olaf was rescued last year from a horrible shelter in Ankara, Turkey. He was only skin and bones and was laying almost lifeless. He was surrounded by bigger/older dogs and he had no chances of survival as he would not be able to access food and water.
After he was taken out of that shelter, he received veterinary care and started to put on weight and gain energy. After he was discharged from the veterinary clinic, he was placed in a dog hotel/sanctuary where he continued to put on weight. As he returned to acceptable weight range he started become more and more confident.
He is living inside a home for the very first time since he arrived in Amsterdam and he is doing great. He is potty trained. He doesn't have barking problem. He is still testing what is available to chew and not. As such it is a good idea to hide away your shoes just in case, but if he is given a chewing toy/bone he is happy to chew on it exclusively.
He is a very extroverted kind of dog. He loves to be outside, experiencing new things, new places and meeting new people and dogs. He is very friendly and playful to all people and dogs. He loves to have loong loong walks and run and play off-leashed in fenced areas.
At home he is cuddly and goofy. You can find him snoozing or chewing on his bone in his bed or cuddling up with his foster parents to watch tv. In the mornings, he greets his foster parent with helicopter tail wagging and much happiness.
He is a big dog with (currently 31 kg and still can put on weight) softest fur, it is like cuddling a bear! He is the perfect definition of a gentle giant although he is still a puppy at heart! He is indeed very young and he missed on many experiences so he can still count as a puppy. As such, he will need guidance and training. Luckily he is a food motivated good listener but only inside the home at this time because outdoors still have too many distractions for him to be able to focus.

Olaf travelled to the Netherlands after 4 months of procedures. His vaccinations are done and he has a valid passport and travel titration test.
We ask for an adoption contribution of 500 euros to help us continue the work in rescueing and rehabilitating more dogs and cats in Turkey although the actual costs of procedures to rehome dogs from Turkey are higher.
