Pluto is a sweet 1.5 year old male ragdoll cat. He is very affectionate and loves humans, and absolutely loves to play and explore. He will come up to you for belly rubs, loves chasing toys, playing hide and seek, and sometimes even plays fetch, and will always spend the night sleeping by you. He loves being brushed (I do this daily), and he is quite okay with getting his nails trimmed (I will usually cut his nails when he's napping or very relaxed).

An important thing to know about Pluto and his breed is that they form deep bonds with their humans. This means he will follow you everywhere, nap nearby, and can get upset if you’re away for several hours. He really thrives on attention and affection, and will also give you lots of that.

Pluto has not had any major health issues, he has only had some irritation in his gums but this is getting better. He is microchipped, castrated, and has had all of his routine injections. As a kitten Pluto used to scratch my plants but he’s been trained not to do that anymore. What he does do if he wants to play is paw at the plants because he knows I will come with one of his toys to try and distract him (this was how I trained him to stop, but he also trained me for his own benefit (: ) I know I’m biased but he really is such a sweet and intelligent cat. I really hope to find the perfect home for him, where he can hopefully spend the rest of his life.

For Pluto I’m ideally seeking a family home where he’s rarely alone, and preferably where another cat around the same age/with a similar character is already present. Based on his character and needs, ideal matches would be: family homes, people who work from home and are looking to get a second cat, or people who are enjoying their pension who also have the energy to play with him. What would not be a good match is people living alone, couples who work at the office 5 days a week, or students.

Pluto eats both wet & dry food, and knows when he has had enough. He has free access to dry food (royal canin ragdoll), and most evenings I give him a pouch of wet food (royal canin hair & skin). I recently also started incorporating royal canin dental dry food into his diet as he was showing signs of irritated gums. I either add this to his dry food or use these as treats/to play with (I throw them, he chases after them and eats them). Before arriving at these specific foods, I had tried different foods and because ragdolls tend to have sensitive stomachs, it led to some very messy situations. It’s important that you’re financially in a place where you can commit to keeping him on these foods.
