Raya

A beautiful calico, Raya is a real gem – calm, loving, purring. And with fantastic soft fur, inviting petting. She will be a great family cat with a calm and quiet demeanor. She's a very gentle, mostly a lap cat but she also enjoys playing. Especially when she discovers a favorite toy - feathers and noise get her going - you'll see her jumping and having fun. After she spends her energy, she rolls herself in a bed for some rest and enjoys peace and quiet. She likes both soft and dry food, and likes to have some toys in her bed to choose a favorite for each day's play. More she doesn't need to be happy, so simple and loving she is.

Raya was found in the streets of Bulgaria as a stray can - she obviously grew up as a house cat but either ran away or was abandoned. It was hard for her to fend for herself as she didn’t have the skills – so when our volunteers found her, she was underfed and sick, with a big ulcer on her mouth. A caring and skilled vet took her in their clinic, and after treatments, Raya recovered, gained weight and re-gained some of her love of being petted and cuddled. "

She is friendly with kids and is currently living with kids in foster care. She is friendly to other cats, and really enjoys the company of Tommy whom she met at the shelter and bonded as a pair. Given her background, she will be a great indoor cat or will enjoy the fresh air on a secured terrace or balcony.

Raya is now in the Netherlands and is ready to meet her new parent(s). She is neutered and vaccinated, has a chip and an international passport.

We are asking for a 50-euro donation which will go to the foster parent to cover expenses during her foster care.
