Omschrijving
My name is Nermina, and I am reaching out to find a responsible and loving home for my 3.5-year-old Husky, who has epilepsy. Due to personal circumstances, I am no longer able to provide him with the care and attention he deserves.
He is mostly independent, enjoys walks and exploring, and is generally healthy with regular medication (Keppra) for his epilepsy. While he enjoys being alone at times, he also loves being spoiled and is affectionate, especially with children and cats. He has a strong prey drive and tends to chase chickens and sheep, so he would do best in a home with fewer animals.
He is used to being an outdoor dog, but enjoys coming inside and being with his people. I believe he would thrive in a home with a yard or in a rural area where he can roam freely and enjoy the outdoors.
I would like to emphasize that a shelter is not an option for him, as it would be too stressful for him given his condition. We are not simply looking to give him away; we would like to stay in contact and monitor his adjustment to his new home while he settles in.
I am seeking a family who can provide him with the care, attention, and love he deserves, especially in a cooler environment where he can enjoy the space and freedom he needs.
Please let me know if you are interested or need further details. I appreciate any help in finding him a new home where he will be loved and well cared for.
P.S. We are not rehoming him because of his epilepsy. He has had it since he was 1 year old and it is managed with medication. He is healthy and stable, and his condition does not impact his daily life.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Best regards,

Toelichting
The only reason for rehoming is my health issue (thyroid problems), which prevents me from providing the activity he requires. I will soon be going to Bosnia for further tests, and despite all efforts to keep him, I believe this would be suffering for him. My husband works more than 10 hours every day, plus travel time, so the dog is often left alone, and we do not have a yard. We considered taking him with me to Bosnia, but we do not have a yard there either. We live in a rural area, where chickens and other animals are free to roam, and there is a law allowing people to kill dogs that damage their property. I have had situations where neighbors intentionally threw firecrackers at him while he was sleeping, and once even shot him with a slingshot. Unfortunately, I have no rights because it’s not my yard, and the police don’t consider it an issue. I will not be home much in Bosnia, so that is not an option. We are looking for the best solution for him, where he will be free and able to run as he pleases. This is not easy for us but this is last option that we have, We would never give him if we were not in this situation. When we first came here in Belgium our landlord did not allow him to be with us but we hide him so we went through all trouble because we love him so much. Regarding the costs we are willing to cover all necessary expenses as long as we are able to do so. One box of Keppra is around 50euros.
