Mithi

Mithi’s story is one of courage, resilience, and hope. she was taken by her owner when she was 2 months old to a vet, and they never returned to pick her up. She spent the next 7 months locked up in a vet's cage. This was a jail sentence – little stimulation, hugs, or contact with furry friends or humans. I rescued her in June 2024, and she lived with a foster for a few months, where she flourished and learned to love and trust humans. When her foster could no longer keep her, she moved to a boarding where she was treated like a princess and was everybody’s favourite. As she grew in confidence, I knew it was time to find her “forever” family.
Despite her trauma and being let down by humans, Mithi is sweet, loving, and affectionate – the best couch potato in television history. She can sometimes be protective and guard her home and human with visitors she doesn't know, but can be corrected, and she gets better with each exposure.
She is currently with an amazing foster in Amsterdam and is available for adoption.
Mithi is:
- About 1.5 years old, fully vaccinated, and spayed
- A special desert dog will remain on the smaller side (13 kilos)
- Low to medium energy
- Leash, crate, and toilet trained
- Can be left alone for a few hours and does not create a fuss
- Excellent with adults and calm children, teenagers preferred
- Gets along well with dogs
- Needs a proper introduction to cats
