Meet Pati – Our Gentle Giant Looking for His Forever Home 🐾

Pati (which means “paw” in Turkish – so suiting for him!) has quite the journey behind him. Found as a stray puppy at just 5 months old in Turkey, he spent his early years in a loving home with cats and a small child. After that, he lived in a dog hotel for 3 years while waiting for his chance. Now, he is finally in a foster home in Amsterdam, rediscovering what it means to be part of a family.

💙 Personality & Home Life
Pati is affectionate, cuddly, and calm. He loves to be close to his people and is happy to curl up for snuggles. He’s also wonderfully quiet in the house. Potty-trained and able to stay home alone for a few hours without issues, he is already well-adjusted to home routines. And true to his name, one of his favorite ways to show affection is by offering his paw—it’s his special little love language.

🎾 Play & Activities
This big boy adores his ball—fetch is his favorite game, but he can also happily entertain himself by tossing and rolling it around. On walks, Pati is good on leash and even learned to trot alongside a bike, though running isn’t really his thing. He enjoys the company of other dogs, big or small, and plays respectfully with them.

🚗 Challenges
Car rides are not his favorite—he may resist getting in, though once inside he simply lies down. His foster family is helping him get used to vehicles, but his new family will need to continue this gently.

👥 Meeting People
Pati loves people deeply, but that doesn’t mean he greets strangers with a wagging tail right away. He needs slow introductions and space at first. He can be spooked by sudden movements or loud noises, but he recovers quickly with reassurance. With proper training and patience, he will continue to grow in confidence.

🏡 Looking For
We are searching for an experienced and understanding family—someone who recognizes the needs of a rescue dog and will help Pati feel safe as he adjusts to his new world. In return, you’ll gain an affectionate, loyal companion with the sweetest heart (and the cutest paw-shakes).
