Ralph

Ralph is a Miniature Schnauzer who had a poor start to life. Bred in unfortunate circumstances, being early transported to the Netherlands without his mother and not having received proper socialisation with the breeder, has left him with an easily triggered stress system and little dampening of Schnauzer characteristics such as arousal proneness and guarding tendencies. Ralph can consequently not cope in a busy inner city living environment with children and this is why we hope to find him a new home without children under sixteen years of age, in a quiet surrounding and in a home with an own, fenced, garden or field.

Ralph loves his walks and play time, loves to use his nose and can be endearingly contact orientated with his owners.

He has medical issues, such as an auto immune disease which we aim to control with nutritional supplementation in concertation with his vet and we expect gastro- intestinal discomfort, for which he is on a nutrition that supports him in that field.

Nevertheless, Ralph can say ‘no’ when touched in ways that are discomforting to him. He has never drawn blood in such instances, but will set limits due to his bodily discomfort. Ralph is a male of nearly five years old and presently lives in Amsterdam.
He might be able to live with a female dog, but is not good with younger dogs. Should you want to meet Ralph, we would like to get in touch with you and arrange for walkies together, to get to know each other and discuss if there is a match with you, your surroundings and Ralph and his needs. We are very bound to him, but wish for him to find a better home where he can be more relaxed.
