Meet Eleanora – Belgium’s Sweetest Little Princess - Currently in foster care in Stekene, East Flanders (between Ghent & Antwerp)

Eleanora, lovingly known as Baby Elly (and sometimes Baby Checkers when she’s cheeky!), is searching for her forever home in Belgium or The Netherlands.

Her journey hasn’t been easy. Eleanora, now estimated to be 3.5 years old, once had a family in Bahrain. But when they moved away, she was abandoned on the streets and left to fend for herself. From a pampered house cat, to struggling for food overnight, life was suddenly very harsh

Luckily, a kind rescuer found her, nursed her back to health with the help of a vet, and eventually flew her all the way to Belgium for a second chance at life.

Now she’s thriving with her foster mum, showering her with affection, cuddles, and endless purrs. Eleanora’s favorite pastime is curling up on the bed right next to her human, purring softly; she’s truly a little healer cat. She adores treats morning and evening, loves to play with her toy croissant and balls, and will happily award you with the gold medal in her personal Cat Olympics of hugs and snuggles.

Eleanora is looking for a calm home where she can be the only princess. She doesn’t like other cats and has never been tested with dogs.

She is good with children who are gentle and respectful, and her sweet, affectionate nature makes her a wonderful family companion. She must be kept as an indoor-only cat, unless she has safe access to a fully enclosed and cat-proofed garden, balcony, or catio.

Eleanora has a strange habit; every now and then the likes to play with her litter, so a large litter box with high walls it best for her. Also, she can be quite shy at first, so a patient adopter who gives her time and space to trust in her humans before her personality starts to shine, is a must.

She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and has tested negative for FIV, FeLV, and Mycoplasma. Her adoption fee is €275, which covers only a small portion of her relocation costs from Bahrain to Belgium. For anyone in The Netherlands who would like to apply for Baby Elly, her foster mum is willing to drive a short distance to meet you, if that’s required.
