Meet Pete Tong, the Energetic, Playful and Clingy Boy Looking for his Forever Home in The Netherlands 🇳🇱

This amazing little creature was living in a cat colony in Bahrain that was part of our TNR project. After getting him and his relatives spayed & neutered, one of our members just fell in love with his puppy-like nature. Any time he would see her car pull up, he ran towards it in excitement, and always had his tongue sticking out on the side, like a puppy!! 🐶

As part of our TNR project, all stray cats who get spayed/neutered through us also undergo dental scaling to remove any unhealthy teeth which can cause serious health issues if left untreated. Pete Tong had a couple of his bottom teeth removed, which is why his tongue hangs out through the missing teeth’s gap, inspiring his chosen name 🤭

Unfortunately for Pete, upon getting discharged from the vet, the doctor noticed a tumor growing between his shoulder blades. After getting it removed and assessed by a lab in Bahrain, they misdiagnosed him with a very aggressive form of cancer. He was taken to a more professional vet for a second opinion and it was there that they redid the surgery and discovered that he in fact never had any form of cancer and is as healthy as a spring chicken 🐔

Pete is now living in a foster home with 4 other rescue kittens. He got along with them instantly, and his hyperactive energy levels are way too much for them 😆 He uses their very fluffy and tiny bodies as kicker toys, which they don’t really like but they do nothing to defend themselves from his crazy and wild antics. He’s really enjoying their company but we don’t believe the feeling is mutual 🤣

Pete would thrive in a home where he gets a lot of human attention. He has quirky habits like licking you clean every chance he gets, and nibbling on your hands & feet thinking this is a fun game to play. He’s a very busy cat who really loves to play. His high energy levels require a home where he is continuously stimulated & given attention to help him exert it. We would imagine him to be trainable to be in a harness, and his adopter could take him on guided walks on a leash; he is a puppy after all!

We feel that Pete would benefit greatly from a Catio, fully enclosed garden or a cat-proofed balcony. He is a very determined cat so any cat-proofing of outdoor spaces would need to be done extremely carefully to prevent him from escaping or injuring himself.

This growing boy has a great appetite 🍗 He is not a fussy eater & is currently on a wet food & dry food diet. He loves creamy treats but eats them like he hasn’t seen food before in his life!

Pete Tong has a clear bill of health. His adoption fee is €275 which is due upon his arrival to your home. The fee goes towards covering a small portion of his vet and relocation costs from Bahrain. He is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated, had dental scaling and tooth extractions, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV & Mycoplasma.
