Liva

Liva’s name comes from the patisserie where she was first found. Sadly, her start in life was far from sweet. At just about a year old, she was neutered, ear-tagged, and then dumped by animal control on a busy street. The traffic was constant, and instead of kindness, she was met with harshness from passersby. Eventually, she was taken into a sanctuary, where she spent the next six years surrounded by hundreds of dogs but never knowing the comfort of a real home.

Now, Liva has made her way to the Netherlands and is finally experiencing what life as a beloved companion feels like. And she is thriving. ✨

Liva is one of the gentlest dogs you’ll ever meet. She adores people, though her past shows in how she greets affection—she’ll lie down, tuck her head low, and even whine softly, as if to say, “Please don’t hurt me, I promise I’m a good girl.” With patience and love, she blossoms into the sweetest cuddle bug, following her foster mom from room to room and soaking up all the attention she can get.

Liva loves her walks and is already quite good on the leash. Although she lived peacefully among many dogs in the sanctuary, currently she prefers to avoid other dogs and feels safest with calm, low-energy companions. She has absolutely no aggression and is a gentle, submissive soul, but puppies or overly playful dogs can be too much for her.

In her foster home, Liva is learning to enjoy soft beds, cozy corners, and the warmth of human company. She is fully potty trained, very quiet, and understands house rules beautifully. She isn’t a dog who needs intense training, tricks, or agility—what she craves most is love, security, and a sense of belonging. She’s clever, learns routines quickly, and loves treats (though she can be a little picky with kibble).

We are looking for a kind, patient family who will embrace Liva for who she is: a gentle, sensitive soul ready to give all her love. A peaceful home, relaxing walks, new little adventures, and plenty of cuddles—that’s all Liva dreams of. After years of waiting, she deserves nothing less than a life where she feels safe, loved, and truly at home.
