Omschrijving
Legolas’ story began in a small village near Ankara, where he and his siblings were found as 5-month-old pups. They were all neutered, vaccinated, and cared for while staying on the streets in the same village. But when Legolas turned about 1-1.5 years old, he suddenly began to struggle with weakness in his back legs. Despite numerous tests, no cause could be found. He was taken to a dog sanctuary for close care — and thankfully, this brave boy made a full recovery. Today, he walks, runs, and even climbs stairs with ease! 🐾
Despite spending most of his life in a sanctuary, Legolas has never lost his gentle, affectionate nature. He’s a calm, playful, and easygoing soul who loves life and people in equal measure.
Outside, he’s a dream on the leash — relaxed, steady, and happy to match your pace. He doesn’t have recall yet, but since he naturally keeps his humans in sight, it’ll be easy to teach him with some training and patience.
At home, he’s the perfect cuddle buddy — quietly following his humans around, curling up nearby, and bringing comfort just by being there.
With his handsome looks and big-dog presence, Legolas will definitely turn heads on walks — and make you feel extra safe during nighttime strolls.
His Anatolian Shepherd heritage makes him a loyal, balanced companion who gets along well with other animals. Once he fully settles, he may show a protective side, but like all shepherds, his biggest motivation is to please his people. With loving guidance and gentle structure, he’ll always want to do the right thing.
Legolas is ready for a family who will open the world to him — new adventures, soft beds, loving hands, and a lifetime of belonging. After all the years he’s waited, he deserves to finally have a home to call his own. 💫

Toelichting
Legolas travelled to the Netherlands after 4 months of procedures. His vaccinations are done and he has a valid passport and travel titration test. We ask for an adoption contribution of 500 euros to help us continue the work in rescueing and rehabilitating more dogs and cats in Turkey although the actual costs of procedures to rehome dogs from Turkey are higher. Stichting Verhuisdieren is aware of these higher adoption costs and has given permission due to high costs for Turkish animals.
