Omschrijving
Lora is a soft-natured, quietly observant girl who thrives in peaceful environments and gentle routines. She doesn’t bark, doesn’t chew, and loves to simply be near her humans. If you’re looking for a calm, low-maintenance companion who expresses her love with quiet presence rather than big gestures, Lora may be just the one for you.
She’s a sensitive dog who takes her time to open up—but once she does, her trust and affection are deeply rewarding. Lora is the kind of dog who teaches you the beauty of slow connection.
Personality & Behavior
At home, Lora is calm, quiet, and clean. She’s fully toilet-trained, doesn’t make a mess, and can be left alone for a few hours without issue.
She recently started jumping on the bed to be closer to her foster parent—a big step for her, both physically and emotionally. That small moment tells you how far she’s come.
She’s currently living with another dog and, although she growled at first, they’re now peacefully coexisting and even enjoying each other’s company. With cats, she’s even better—she has a gentle curiosity and has even teamed up with one in her previous foster home to play little pranks on their human 😹
When it comes to new dogs, Lora prefers to be approached slowly. If another dog gets too close too quickly, she may growl to ask for space. But she’s not reactive—just cautious. With the right introduction, she settles in beautifully.
When overwhelmed or stressed, she doesn’t hide—she just stands still and falls asleep on the spot. It’s her unique (and oddly adorable) way of coping. Some dogs bark, some run—Lora naps.
Outdoors & Walking
Lora is making steady progress in adjusting to city life. Loud noises and unfamiliar streets can still make her pause or freeze, but with a calm voice and some gentle encouragement, she’ll continue walking. She doesn’t pull on the leash and enjoys her strolls—on her terms, at her pace.
She has started letting friendly strangers pet her and continues to grow more confident every day. When she feels scared, a soft voice or a kind touch helps her settle almost instantly.
Health & Background
Lora was found in Ankara after being hit by a car. She underwent surgery on her hip. As a result of the injury, she now walks with a subtle limp and may appear to be more careful in new environments. While she does not experience any pain, she occasionally pretends she’s hurting—especially when she’s unsure or simply doesn’t feel like doing something. It’s a behavior we’ve come to know well!
Her mobility is solid: she can run and enjoys her walks like any other dog. However, because of her orthopedic history, regular check-ups will be important throughout her life to make sure everything remains stable and pain-free.
Key Features:
🐾 Calm, quiet, and low-maintenance at home
🐾 Great with cats; polite with dogs after slow intros
🐾 Very affectionate once trust is built
🐾 Stands still and naps when overwhelmed – her version of emotional reset
🐾 Walks at her own pace – doesn’t pull on the leash
🐾 Doesn’t bark or chew – ideal for apartment life
🐾 Recovered from hip surgery – walks with a limp, no pain
🐾 Regular vet check-ups advised due to past injury
🐾 Ideal for calm homes and gentle-hearted people
Ideal Home
Lora would thrive in a peaceful, stable environment with humans who respect her boundaries and pace. She doesn’t need chaos, loud energy, or high activity—just kindness, safety, and soft routines.
