Stroopwafel

Stroopwafel is an adorable short-haired Holland Lop rabbit. He loves getting head scratches and enjoys chewing boxes, napping, and ripping up paper. We have had Stroopwafel since he was a few months old (he is now 7 years old), but you would never tell as he is still healthy and full of energy.

He is used to roaming through the apartment and does not enjoy being in a cage. He is an indoor rabbit and loves lying next to the radiator to get warm. We do keep him in the living room with the door shut at night as he can be fairly active in the evenings. Sometimes he will scratch at the door to wake us up to give him food but only in the mornings when he thinks that it is breakfast time (we put a small carpet by the door and this stops him). During the day he is happy to roam through the apartment and generally likes to be in the same room that we are in.

He really does not enjoy getting picked up, and getting manicures (his nails clipped) is not his idea of a relaxing time. He is a really relaxed bunny most of the time and sleeps most of the day but enjoys to sleep by our feet while we are working. He is used to us being home most of the day and enjoys the company, but can also be left alone for a few hours (he will very likely be asleep for the majority of the time).

He has never been around children, but so long as they are gentle and don't pick him up, it should be fine for him. He is not aggressive and has never bitten us.

If you have ever had a rabbit before, you will know that they are very inquisitive and will chew anything that is left in reach of them. Stroopwafel personally likes to pretend to be an electrician by chewing on cables, ingests knowledge by eating books, is a botanist by eating plants, and assumes that anything left on the floor is a gift for him. We have 'bunny-proofed' our house, and it has been good for a few years now so he knows what is and is not for him to chew.

He has a big personality for such a tiny body. He loves his routine and enjoys eating his greens first thing in the morning and his pellets at 7pm. While he absolutely loves fruit and veg, his stomach does not agree with them, so he mainly eats endive lettuce, hay and Science Selective pellets.

Our ideal adoptant is someone who will love him, give him attention when he wants it, and be gentle with him. We would love to still get photos and updates on him so would be amazing if his new owner would be willing to do that.
