Dobby

Dobby is part of a very special little family named after Harry Potter characters. He was found together with his mother Hermione and his four sisters after they had been very recently neutered and ear-tagged, when the puppies were only around 5–6 months old. Dobby is the only male in the family — and he definitely knows how to stand out.

They were living in a suburban area that was unfortunately not dog-friendly. Because of their incredibly sweet and social nature, they would happily approach people for affection — something that sadly put them at even greater risk. Under the local massacre law, dogs like them stood no real chance of survival, and they could have been removed at any moment.

Thankfully, they were taken to safety and placed in a dog hotel, where they received all their vaccinations and proper care while waiting for their turn to fly to the Netherlands and begin their search for loving forever homes.

Dobby is a playful, curious, and cheerful young dog. He loves exploring his surroundings and is always interested in what’s going on around him. While he enjoys treats, he is a bit less food-motivated than his sister Myrtle, and tends to be more driven by curiosity and play.

He has no known diseases, no special dietary needs.

Dobby has never lived in a home before, so he should be seen as a “grown-up puppy.” He is adaptable, inquisitive, and eager to learn, but will need patience and guidance as he discovers home life for the first time. He is already potty trained, though a few accidents may happen at the beginning as he adjusts to a new routine.

At the dog hotel, Dobby lived alongside many other dogs, mostly interacting with his own family. On leash walks, he remained calm around stray dogs and dogs barking from behind fences. He can still struggle a bit with the leash, especially when he wants to move forward but feels held back — something very common for young dogs and easily improved with gentle, consistent training.

We haven’t yet had the chance to observe Dobby with small children, but given his friendly and playful nature, we expect him to do well with respectful kids.

Dobby gets along wonderfully with his sisters and shares a close bond with them. He can be fostered or adopted together with one of his siblings or on his own. Like the rest of the family, he enjoys water play and will happily join in when there’s a chance to splash around.
