Picture a park in a residential neighbourhood in Turkey. Amidst the hustle of everyday life, a little family of dogs lived — named after characters from Harry Potter. Mother Hermione raised her five pups with a devotion that moved everyone who saw her. She would always wait for her puppies to finish eating before she took a single bite herself. She played with them, comforted them, and was their very best friend.
But their friendliness was also their greatest vulnerability. This family loved people so openly — greeting every passerby like a long-lost friend — that complaints started coming in from locals. Government shelters in Turkey are just terrible in every possible way.

Hermione was rescued from streets in Turkey, June 2025. She travelled to the Netherlands recently and had to complete 4 months long procedures to be able to travel to the EU (EU Rules). Her vaccinations are done and she has a valid passport and travel titration test. We ask for an adoption contribution of 500 euros to help us continue the work in rescueing and rehabilitating more dogs and cats in Turkey although the actual costs of procedures to rehome dogs from Turkey are higher. Stichting Verhuisdieren is aware of these higher adoption costs and has given permission due to high costs for Turkish animals.
