Myrtle’s story begins in a quiet neighborhood in Turkey. Rescued together with her family and brought to safety in June 2025, Myrtle has now made her way to the Netherlands, ready to discover what it truly means to belong.
At just one year old, Myrtle is still very much a puppy — just in a bigger body. With her elegant, tall frame and soft white coat marked with touches of black brindle, she carries the beautiful features of an Anatolian Shepherd, despite the fact that her mother Hermione is a black labrador looking dog.
Myrtle is incredibly sweet and affectionate. She is the kind of dog who follows you from room to room, looking up at you with the softest puppy eyes, always hoping for a gentle touch or a cuddle. Indoors, she is calm, loving, and happiest when she’s close to her...

Myrtle was rescued from streets in Turkey in June 2025. She travelled to the Netherlands after completing a 4 months of procedure - EU rules. Her vaccinations are done and she has a valid passport and travel titration test. We ask for an adoption contribution of 500 euros to help us continue the work in rescueing and rehabilitating more dogs and cats in Turkey although the actual costs of procedures to rehome dogs from Turkey are higher. Stichting Verhuisdieren is aware of these higher adoption costs and has given permission due to high costs for Turkish animals.
