I am a 28-year-old Computer Science PhD student at VU Amsterdam, living in a quiet, dedicated studio apartment in Hoofddorp. As someone deeply invested in research, I spend a significant portion of my week working from my desk at home. This means any cat staying with me will have near-constant human presence, a highly predictable routine, and a calm, low-traffic environment entirely free of children or other pets.

I have extensive practical experience caring for animals. Back home in India, I regularly provided dog and cat sitting services for friends and family during their travels. Most notably, I successfully stepped in for a long-term fostering commitment where I cared for a close friend’s cat for eight consecutive months. This experience taught me how to read feline body language, manage daily feeding and grooming schedules, and provide the dedicated socialization an animal needs to feel completely safe and relaxed.

My motivation for applying is simple: I deeply miss the companionship of animals, but my current career track and long-term plans for international relocation mean I cannot commit to permanent adoption. Fostering or medium-term boarding is the perfect intersection for my lifestyle. It allows me to offer a safe, stable, and affectionate temporary home to a cat in need, while utilizing my quiet working routine to give them the focused attention they deserve. I look forward to providing a reliable, peaceful sanctuary for your cats.
