Minnie

Minnie was rescued when she was around 6 months old, simply because where she lived was destroyed right after she was taken for neutering and thus nowhere to return.

As a stray puppy she must have been targeted by people who cut her tail very short. She was an extremely scared puppy which we hoped will go away when exposed to people at dog hotel. Although she gets used to her carer, she didn't regain trust towards people. We believe she needs more one-on-one time with people to regain trust which we cannot provide her with in dog hotels.

When she meets someone new, she tries to run away and hide. She can bark and growl to intimidate people so they don't get near her. However, unless there is a window of opportunity to run away from people she will not attempt to bite if cornered. When cornered, she simply tries to make herself as small as possible and endure the pets or if approached by a vet, injections etc. It is possible to touch her body when cornered and can be lifted up, without being bitten.

She hates the leash so she shrieks and frantically sad to get away when she is on a leash and feels the tension.

What she needs is a foster or adoptive family who have a fully fenced garden where she can learn the routine to be in and out. She may have potty accidents first days because she will try to hide but once she gets used to the routine she does not go potty in the house.

She is good with other dogs. She can however be a dominant dog. So a stable male dog at home can work miracles showing that there is nothing to be afraid of.

She needs a place to stay for a long time- no less than 6 months- as changing foster homes is not a viable option for her and finding someone to adopt her without improvement of her condition is very difficult.
