Velko

Velko is a lovely boy who had a difficult start in life, but keeps his social, positive personality. Highly intelligent, he enjoys human company, loves to go on walks and is happy to follow commands. His eyes lit up when he meets other dogs and he loves to play, with them or with a ball. It’s easy to interact with him, and he is grateful to have your attention.

Velko is a medium size dog (chest – 75 cm, neck – 42 cm, belly – 57 cm) and at the age of four, he is fully grown. He had a beautiful full fur, but also enjoys a nice haircut for the summer.

Initially he is timid with new people, but once he gets a sense of who is around, he relaxes and shows his personality. He was treated badly in the past but has overcome the trauma of being hurt. Although he had to survive in the street before he was found and brought to a foster family, he has no injuries, illnesses or handicaps.

He is now ready for a new life and a stable, loving home. He is great with kids and dogs, and is currently living in a foster home in Bulgaria with another dog and a 9-year old boy so he is used to home environment. He is also good with cats, and there is no problem to leave him alone.

Velko has all required tests (CCV, CPV, Giardia, 4D – all negative) and all vaccines. He is castrated, chipped and has an EU passport.

We are looking for a foster home to help us transition Velko from Bulgaria to a forever family in the Netherlands. We are open to discuss the arrangements with the potential foster parent(s) and to provide support if needed.
