Omschrijving
Venus was rescued as a puppy from a dangerous area in Ankara, along with her siblings. Since then, she had been living in a safe but isolated shelter environment, away from the chaos she was born into. She recently arrived in the Netherlands—just about 3 weeks ago—and is taking her first cautious steps into a completely new world.
Personality & Behavior
Venus is a shy, sensitive, and cautious young girl. Her default response to anything new—be it a person, a sound, or an object—is fear. She’s not aggressive or reactive, just deeply unsure. She’s afraid of almost everything, including humans, and needs time, space, and emotional safety to slowly come out of her shell.
Despite her fear, Venus is incredibly gentle. She never lashes out. She’s quiet, doesn’t bark, doesn’t chew, and coexists peacefully with other dogs and cats. Her fear is not selective—she is scared of all creatures equally, not because of trauma caused by them, but because the world simply feels overwhelming to her.
Progress So Far
Since arriving in the Netherlands, Venus has made visible progress. She’s starting to explore her surroundings more, take in new scents, and engage (timidly) with the world. However, she still finds walks outside very difficult, and because of this, her toilet training is not yet reliable.
That said, when she does manage to go outside with a bit of confidence, she prefers to toilet outdoors and keeps the house clean. This clearly shows it’s not about house training—it’s about fear. She just needs time and support to gain the courage to go outside consistently.
Key Features:
🐾 Rescued as a puppy from a dangerous area in Ankara
🐾 Shy, fearful, and still in early training
🐾 Good with cats and dogs
🐾 Toilet training not complete – linked to outdoor fear, not lack of habit
🐾 Doesn’t bark, chew, or show destructive behaviors
🐾 Needs a quiet home with gentle, stable routines
🐾 Not suitable for city life or busy households
🐾 Great match for someone experienced with shy or traumatized dogs
🐾 About 3 weeks in the Netherlands and already showing progress
What Kind of Home Does Venus Need?
Venus needs a very calm, quiet, and predictable home. She is not ready for busy streets, loud children, or high-energy environments. What she needs is someone who:
🐾 is extremely patient and gentle
🐾 will allow her to move at her own pace
🐾 can offer her the stability she’s never had before
🐾 preferably doesn’t have small children at home
A securely fenced garden would be a big advantage, since she still struggles with walks. Other dogs or cats in the home are perfectly fine—as long as they are calm and respectful.
This is not a dog for someone looking for fast results. But if you’re willing to go slow, you’ll get the quiet joy of watching a timid dog grow more confident—step by step, day by day.
