One afternoon, a small three-month-old kitten was lost near a busy street corner. She was tiny, black and white, and very scared. People walked past, cars passed by, and the kitten didn’t know where to go.
Suddenly, she slipped and fell into a rain drain. It was dark, cold, and lonely. The kitten cried softly, hoping someone would hear her.
Not far away, a kind person received a phone call from a shop near the corner of Botsari and Konstantinou Karamanli streets. Someone had heard a faint meow. When the person arrived, the kitten was nowhere to be seen.
They started calling out and listening carefully.
“Kitty! Kitty!”
Then, very faintly, from beneath the street, came a tiny sound… meow.
The kitten was trapped inside the drain.
